I'm looking into a friends system and I keep getting an error that reads:

"Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request. Please run Microsoft Outlook Express and se it as the default mail client"

They currently have Outlook Express set as the default mail client. When you try to connect to the mail server it will time out.

Any ideas?

Also I had just got the Virtomondo Adware off the systems.

Is it enabled for POP3? It sounds like a POP3 error to me. Somebody was prolly touching something they shouldn't have and deleted a letter or something off of the smtp or pop address.

We both use comcast and I checked the settings and they are the same. I checked the POP3 settings and they look fine.

You might want to run lspfix to see if there is still a remnant of the spyware left behind in the winsock stack.
