Strange issue with Router?

I have a Asus RT-N16 router that I am connected to by cable and a Comcast Motorola Surfboard modem.

My issue is with pinging servers in game browsers (steam browser for example). I can no longer see servers in just about any game's server browser. Servers that are in my favorites that I normally ping in the low teens are pinging at around 1000. All the servers in my history are in the 1000-2000 range. If I just do a quick reboot on the router (through the admin panel works fine) then all is well.

The modem is all up to date on the stock firmware (haven't gone to DD-WRT yet). It's pretty annoying, just curious if anyone has had this issue before, maybe with this specific router, and any ideas on how to fix it.
