Strange HDD Problem - Help plz!

I built my friends computer, but he ordered a new case, so he transfered it to the new one. But now that it's in the new one, the computer wont boot. It gets to the XP loading screen and the loading bar moves for like 7-9 cycles and then the computer just restarts. It works in safe mode, but not in the normal mode. I checked the BIOS for boot orders and master/slave order and such, but nothing works. I think it is because after everything was rearranged and plugged in differently that it won't boot normally. What do you think we could do to fix it. The motherboard is an Abit NF7, hdd is a Samsung 160GB 2mb Cache, and the windows is Windows XP Professional SP1. Thanks!
 
It would be a good idea to re-arrange the cards as they used to be before the case change.

If it doesn't work, try to re-arrange the power connectors to every device... sometimes it makes some difference.

The last chance is trying to boot from a previous configuration:
at windows XP startup, press the space bar, it will bring you to a menu where you can select to try to boot with the infamous "Last known good configuration"....

But probably it won't work, since the "Last known good configuration" referes to a different layout.... but give it a try.
 
checkj to make sure that nothing is preventing the fans from spinning. I have seen the same issue caused by a stray wire stuck in a fan...

i think you should "rebuilt" the computer in the new case as exactly as it was in the old case.... take out all the parts again, take it apart, then put it back in exactly as you did when you built it in the old case

it seems like wasting a lot of time but taking it out and redoing everything sometimes is a lot faster than sitting there, scratching your butt while you figure out which plug you mixed up or something
