Strange HD problem

Just got an Asus Laptop about 3 weeks ago, G60jx the intel I5 model. I had to return the first one because I got a BSOD and the HD was getting louder over a 3 day period to the point where I couldn't stand it... I've had the new one now for 2 1/2 weeks and now out of the blue I noticed that the HD light is flashing every 1second, I booted into safe mode and it still flashes every 1 second. I turned off indexing and all the caching stuff and still have the same problem. Any ideas? The HD is getting louder again like the first one did and the HD is a seagate 500GB 7200RPM drive which I know the 7200RPM drives are louder but the HD light problem shouldn't exist, I can understand it flashing for a few min after booting but if I'm not doing anything the light shouldn't flash. I have all the updates etc. I've even gone as far as uninstalling Kaspersky Anti Virus and rebooting, same problem.


Any Ideas peeps? I fear I just bought a lemon and I'm going to have to deal with Worst Buy forever until this is resolved.


My gut tells me this is a driver issue, Asus is known for not updating drivers on a regular basis.. Wondering if anyone might have had or have an Asus laptop and experienced the same issue, if so..How did you fix it?
 
Download and run Seagate's SeaTools diagnostic software (which is available at Seagate's website) to determine whether or not the hard drive is going bad. I don't believe that the HDD is going bad, but it's best to narrow down any and all potential trouble areas. (As a safety precaution, you may want to use troubleshooting software to diagnose other components within your laptop; check the troubleshooting sticky for more details.)

If you're unable to find something wrong with the hard drive, you may want to consider returning the laptop -- especially if you're having doubts about Asus' customer service.
 
If I could return it I would, best buy has a 14 day return policy, its been 3 weeks.
I ran seatools and the HD passed. I've just never seen any machine with this problem before, HD light blinks every second. Performance is the same as when I bought it, just out of the blue the HD light started flashing like crazy.
 
Figured it out, The WIFI isn't working now.. Yet one more problem which probably why my HD light was flashing every second. Taking back to Worst Buy tomorrow to send it off to Asus for a month or so.. Month or so without Gaming :mad:

Anyone reading this that was thinking about buying an Asus laptop or anything Asus, Look elsewhere. I have lost all respect for Asus. Once this thing is fixed, I give it two weeks to maybe 2 months until I have to ship it off again.

big time... never seen anything like it. even with indexing turned off the HD light would flash every 1 sec. safe to say i bought a POS.. The G60JX is one model to stay away from.:(
