Code:
[19:49:00] + Attempting to get work packet
[19:49:00] - Connecting to assignment server
[19:49:01] - Successful: assigned to (0.0.0.0).
[19:49:01] + News From Folding@Home: Welcome to Folding@Home
[19:49:01] Work Unit has an invalid address.
[19:49:01] - Error: Attempt #4 to get work failed, and no other work to do.
             Waiting before retry.

Any suggestions?

I think that the assigned to "0.0.0.0" means a network error.

A reboot might help.

(0,0,0,0) tends to mean that Stanford is Borked.
Either theres no new work units to give out because we've crunched them all ........
Or one of the servers has just gone down or is overloaded ...........
Just keep retrying untill things get fixed.

Luck ........... :D

I'm getting the same error on all my SMP boxes. Reboot does not help. I'm thinking it's an issue @ Stanford.

I just checked too. Some of my boxes are starting to go hungry. Someone needs to reboot a box somewhere over at Stanford :D.

Yup, that message is when there is a problem on the Stanford end. We don’t get them as often as we used to but as a rule they happen over a weekend. That said, I have to give credit where it’s due, even on weekends now someone will stop in and feed the kitty for us.

Us old guys remember when outages used to be measured in days instead of hours;)

I just started getting it a short while ago too, on top of all my other problems :p

I'm uploading-downloading work just fine atm ............ :p

Luck ............ :D

Same here for nearly 12 hours now.

And FYI the server stats page for:
171.64.65.64 = REJECT status, full connect (the assignment server?)
171.64.122.76 = Accepting, but no good either (the upload/collection server?).

Oh, FWIW, I just pinged a moment ago...And am at least getting replies now, I wasn't this morning when it all started. Maybe that means the servers are back up, just very bogged down by the backlog of returns/requests for WUs?

[edit] Finally got the completed WU returned/DL new one.

I'm down and out on 2 outta 3 machines. One for about 8 hours and one for about 45 minutes.

None of my borgs have failed to download new WU's ....
I remember reading something about them re-balancing some servers to better handle the load.

I hope you guys get back up and running soon!

Ive had 3 SMP WUs upload since midnight, all getting new WUs in return, so who knows

Where's the timeless tinkers?

Just before I posted that I tried restarts, then send all's.
Just went back and did restarts and they both sent.

I guess I had to threaten them with timeless tinkers.

Indeed, the increased competition among the top 4 teams must be overloading the servers, a possibility I predicted here.

Yea..i foudn rebooting doesn't seem to help...I just had to let it sit there for a while and it eventually got fed some more work
