Now, I am sorry I cant give you guys the full computer specs, I am asking for a friend, and I am wondering if any of you know a possible solution. But what I do know is the card is an x1650 agp card, on a P4.
The problem is this, when you try to do anything that requires 3d capabilities, such as gaming the monitor shuts off, the problem however only occurs when the monitor is connected via DVI, but if you connect the monitor to the VGA port the problem isn't there. I am thinking for some reason the driver switches to the VGA port when trying to game. This problem has occurs over multiple cards, according to him and via multiple drivers, doing a clean install of drives does not help. Any suggestions on trying to fix it? Or is this an ATI driver issue?
