Strange display problem

Something's up.

Well, here it goes. I went and opened an HP Pavillion (no comments about the horrible case design) to get the DVD Writer inside and everything went fine. The thing uses an nForce2 mobo, by the way. But now that I've replugged the thing, for some reason, I'm getting no video output. I've tried switching monitors and it didn't change a thing. I plugged a GeForce2 and a Radeon 9500 in the AGP port to see if the problem was the IGP, but I'm getting no signal either (and I'm 100% sure that at least the Radeon is working).

This might just be because the PC is simply ignoring the AGP cards, which is something I considered, but if that's the case, I'm not getting anywhere, since there's no way I can play in the BIOS without seeing what's on screen! Any ideas on how to solve this? If the problem is indeed only in the IGP, I would just need to find a way to priorize the AGP port without having to go through the BIOS.

If not, then I'm definitely dumbfounded. What could be causing this? Any ideas? Thanks in advance, guys.

EDIT:

Try borrowing a pci video card if you dont have one already ..and plug it in ..and change it in the bios... it could be that your monitor just died too

You took the DVD writer out of the HP?

If that's the case, it probably just won't boot without it. HP's tend to use proprietary everything, from the mobo and its form factor right down to the bios. Now, each component will work in other boxes, but other components will not work in that box.

About the PCI card: well, I'd gladly try and do that, except I can't change the BIOS settings. I'd need visual input to do that.

I also tried putting the DVD Writer back in the computer, and it hasn't changed a thing. I'm definitely lost here.

Any other ideas?
