Strange Computer Error - Need Help

When I install CPU-Z it works but any subsequent access to the program is greeted by an error msg:

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

Program: C:\Downloads\CPU-Z\cpuz.exe

R6002
- Floating point not loaded

I can also run ATI Tool 0.26 only after I install and initially launch it. If I restart the computer it no longer works.

System at stock or overclocked settings produces the same results. Using Windows XP SP2. I've ran Trendmicro Virus Scan.

Anyone have any insight?
 
Googling for this error brought me to many programming sites. This tell me that your OS is having a weird issue as described by your behavior.

The only advice I can give is to redownload the program and give it another try. If it gives the same error, then I would suggest you do a spyware scan. Getting the latest windows updates would help too if one of the hotfixes fix a file who are the source of your problem.
 
Spyware? Isn't the more logical conclusion that CPU-Z has a bad bug? Why not ask the CPU-Z folks for help directly?
 
If I'm reading the op correctly, he is having issues with ATI tool as well.... so it's not just cpu-z, which could indicate that there may some underlying badness (spyware etc) causing the problem.

Yes and the error was related to a API lib which is probably damaged.
 
So I did a spyware scan and removed any that was detected. I also ran Trendmicro virus scan and had a clean system. The problem still persists.

After a reboot, the program stops functioning and I still come across the mentioned error - I am also certain there is something else going on here. I've tried googling similar problems but had little luck with specifically CPU-Z which is not particularly important as I can display CPU and Memory timings by other means BUT just goes to show that there is something else wrong.

System in Question:
C2D e6300
2x1024 Team Xtreme PC6400
Asus P5W DH Deluxe
2x250GB 7200.10 in Raid 0 connected to EZRAID SATA ports
1x320GB 7200.10
7900 GTO
Enermax 535W powersupply

I've tested the system in SuperPi 32MB, Orthos and Prime95 and it shows stability. Can also Run 3DMark05 and 06 without apparent problems.

I'll post some pictures of the errors to help provide feedback. Thanks again and any further help would be greatly appreciated.

^^ Also upon opening and close other programs the pop-up screen for the error will add 1 for each open and close of other programs.

Could you give me some more feedback as to a possible solution?

Im stuck with where to take it from here.
 
I think the problems are independent. Therefore, I think your best approach is to get support for each of the different errors from each of the different vendors. That is, go to the CPU-Z forums and ask about the FP not loaded error; and separately go to the ATI Tool folks and ask them for help with the error you're getting there.
