Several posts have appeared in this forum expressing concern over clogged water cooling components. Users of high-restriction water blocks, such as the Swiftech Storm, the Aquaxtreme MP-05 and the Aqua Computer Cuplex XT, have complained about clogged nozzles. Some have cautioned against the use of water block components that contain small nozzles, such as the Danger Den TDX #5 accelerator plate. To prevent clogging of its SF800 flow meter, Swissflow advises the use of a 20 micron filter.

Can anyone suggest any in-line strainers or in-line filters that can be placed in a cooling loop to prevent the clogging of high-restriction components? Such a filter or strainer must be compact and easy to clean. Thanks!
 
I don't know but when you start getting down to 10 microns in vacuum filtration with chemistry it becomes very restrictive.
 
Start with a very clean system.

Dump the coolant after 2-3 days.

Flush with distilled H20 till clear.

Refill with aseptic technique, distilled water + additivies of choice.

No worries mate. :D
 
Or do what I do... Disconnect the water lines somewhere, and replace 2 tubes with that crappy HD store vinyl tubing... A good 4-5 feet of it. Place 1 end of 1 tube in a sink, and attach the other to the faucet. Turn it on, check for leaks (water should be going through the entire loop, then back to the sink) and come back in a few minutes...


Rinse the entire system once with distilled water, and you're good to go...
