The red LEDs on the stock Storm Scout were just not working out for me. But evidently Cooler Master doesn't make blue 140mm / 120mm LED fans with the LED on/off wiring much less blue ones. Heck they don't even sell the stock red fans haha. So I swapped out the LEDs from the stock fans with some blue ones. I get the whole red / scout / storm trooper thing they were going for but to me the blue looks way better ...

I plan on installing some blue cathodes as well hoping to hook that up to the LED switch. :D

Nice swap. I still like this case better than the 690 Advanced. Can't beat the handles!

neither cards will fit that case unless you mod (5850 max). a 5870 will fit in the Sniper but not a 5970

Actually that depends – if your mobo’s PCI slot is high enough, you can extend a 5970 into the 5.25 cage.

Coming from an Antec 300, this case is heaven. I’m a bit annoyed however that CM doesn’t market more LED fans with on/off switch wiring. When I asked a rep there if I could at least buy more of the stock red LED fans, he said that they willl only replace broken ones. So I told him mine broke and he seemed to get a little peaved haha.

i was wrong a 5870 will fit Snug and maybe crossfire 5870's but 5970's i dont see

Not my case but here is a pic of a barely fitting 5870. it does fit but its tite

Nice work! I'm contemplating on a Storm Scout for my next build, but the red fans totally killed it for me. I may considering just doing what you did, though.

Good find, wkstar. You'll be stoked on this case for sure.

Yeah I'm trying to figure out a way to separate the LED power from regular LED fans. Then I can just splice or split the LED on/off switch connector on the Scout. I'm going to experiment with this tonight.
