Hardly...they usually call it EFI (Electronic Fuel Injection) don't they? Electronics play a big part in the modern auto. And so they will with the watercooling systems starting to come to the market now. People like DD and Swiftech are going to get swept by the wayside unless they start developing their own stuff, stealing other peoples ideas, or out sourcing their electronic engineering needs. Sorry but you lose.

BTW, are you suggesting that big bore watercooling is akin to top fuel racing?

hey, R1ckCa1n, i'd like to hear about your impressions of this board if and when you get it up and running, in light of the review over on the main page.

Well, I almost gave up on it yesterday until I read all of the sucess on xtremesystems.org's forums.

What was holding me back bigtime was the new OCZ RAM (2 x 1024). I swapped out for my good ole PC4000 VX and all benchmarks are onpar with the DFI NF4 board. 3dmarks05 is running at a nice 9500+ with my X1800XT. All that is necessary is to see what the hell is causing my video card to throttle itself when overclocked.

Right now if you can get over the reboot problem (where it won't do a good reboot through the BIOS), it is a solid board.

so.....what you're saying, is that when the board DOESN'T do things that no retail board should do, which is seldom, that it works almost as well as a retail product should.

this isn't so much a jab at you as it is a jab at DFI/ATI for releasing what should have been an internal/alpha test product as a commercial release.

really, it's kind of like the fact that they have had a problem with proper AGP/PCI-E detection and display since their NF2 boards, that carries right on through to their NF4 boards. it's not that frequent an occurnace, so they let it slide.

the boards are highly overclockable, when they work properly, so the enthusiast/overclockers market gets them, and anyone who gets a board that simply won't play nice is obviously not "l33t" enough to own a DFI board.

that's not to say that other manufacturers don't have issues. my present MSI has some pretty aggrivating onboard sound issues. all the same, having had a bad DFI board, and a flakey MSI board......i must say that the DFI had more crucial features broken.

these problems with the express 200 chipset are just another case in a long line of problems that should have been resolved prior to the board being released.

How do you like the TwinPlex Pro as a GPU cooler?

I have been thinking of using the regular TwinPex for my chipset cooler and putting the 3rd one away for a rainy day. I have also been playing around with a idea to re-machine the block into a Cuplex Pro look alike and machine a new hunk of acrylic so it sprays right onto the pins. That way I think it would be much more free flowing. What do you think?

Did you try hooking up something to the VC fan header? IIRC someone else had a similar problem a few months ago with an Asus card that did something similar when trying to watercool it. Seems some video card systems don't like having a fan missing.
