I am trying to setup VLANS to connect my SAN to my vmware hosts, I am using HP switches. I have default vlan 1 and a storage vlan 50 , when using no vlans I can connect to the Iscsi datastores on the SAN. I set the data subnet to 50 , I set the san ports and the vmware data ports to tagged 50 on the switch, when I set the vlan to 50 on the iscsi vmkernel port I cant connect, if I put this back to none I can connect to the datastore again, can anyone advise me on what they think I may be doing wrong, I'm using standard switches and created a new switch for the storage vmkernel.
