storage spaces vs motherboard raid 1

Looking to set up a mirror on 2 identical HGST 3TB Hard drives for storage. Did a little bit of reading and seems like there isn't much to it with mirroring but figured I would ask.
The drives won't be running any OS, they might be used for recording gameplay through obs, and they maybe but not likely will have programs installed to them.

This is the motherboard Asus Z87-A https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Z87A/
Running Windows 10 on a separate 750GB SSD.
Also have another 240GB SSD and old 320GB HDD if that matters. But not looking to do any raid setups with them.
16GB DDR3 and 4770k at 4.4ghz.

So a couple of questions
1. Both of these would allow me to just use 1 drive if the other fails right? Don't have to rebuild?
2. Both would let me just move 1 drive to another computer like it was a regular non-raided drive right? Don't need to worry about storage controllers or anything like that?
3. What if I wanted to move both drives to another computer to continue mirroring them? Would I have to rebuild or format then?
4. What would be the best choice between raid 1 with this motherboard and windows storage spaces? Does it matter much? Any big differences?
