How trustworthy is Powershell's "Get-PhysicalDisk" commandlet? It shows that all 26 of my disks are "Healthy". Where does it get that info from? SMART? Is there a better way to verify disk / data integrity?

Sure, just use the windows build of smartctl. Heath of disks under Windows can be based on the SMART health warning. I had a disk once that had 3 End to End errors and Windows was complaining about that but SMART also showed a FAILED state at that point. The disk itself was fine.
Oh, from what I see in Disk Management, Healthy is an attribute of each and every partition, not of the disk.
