Storage solution advice needed!

hey guys,

I've got some questions to ask regarding some storage solutions i want to implement.

First of all, i would like to set up 3 rigs: 1 main rig, 1 file server and 1 HTPC.

Main rig specs:
Asus P5K WS

File server specs:
Asus P5WDG2-WS Pro

For storage, i've got 1 x Adaptec 4805SAS, 2 x Adaptec 4800SAS and 1 x LSI Megeraid 8408E. And i'm thinking of making use of DAS to do backup using external multilane connectors.

So, i've got the following qns to ask:
1 - For the DAS, should i do a Raid 5?
2 - Can i share the files in the DAS if its not in Raid 5? ie, can the DAS be connected to another Multilane PC to share the files inside?
