It ran a bunch of utilities for my PC testing the RAM, CPU and Hard drives. and after that the computer boots up, sees the CPU Ram and it freezes. I've had seemingly a troublesome mobo and this is pointing more to it. I've shut it down, unplugged it took the CMOS batter out to set it and it still locks up. Is this a result of a bad mobo? I would think so. Anyone have any thoughts?

components can test good with certain apps and still be bad, i'd check on the RAM and hard drives, also check your optical drive master/slave settings.............

Do a minimum build.
Only use MoBo, CPU & Heatsink with fan, 1 stick of memory, Vid card if not onboard vid, PSU, KB & mouse.
Can you get into the bios ?
If you can the add the rest of your memory & an optical/floppy drive and run Memtest.
If no errors then start adding the rest of your hardware, keep checking that it still work.
Thats my normal build route, in the long run it makes trouble shooting problems easier as there are less new parts that could be bad at each step.

Luck ........... :D

sounds like a memory problem. do what "roy" above me recommends.
