I currently have a AXP2000+ on an MSI KT333 Ultra2 Mobo, with a Ti4200 vidcard. I plan on making a couple of minor upgrades to this machine to get it past the next few months, and was wondering on popular opinion. Currently, my budget can accomodate enough to buy a 9600XT and a XP-M 2600+ Mobile Barton. Which of these would give me the greatest performance increase, both across the board and in FPS games?

id leave ur gfx card as it is, or perhaps try to get a 4600 on ebay or something

i was playing doom3 on a gf3 (although i do have a 3ghz p4) absolutely fine..

get a 6800 of some sort when u can afford it :D
