hey i have a question regarding the stock heatsink fans that ship with the intel Pentium Dual Cores and Core2duos. I was just wondering if there are any differences in cooling quality between the two of them, because i noticed that the pre-applied thermal paste for the e5200 HSFis different from that of the the e8400 HSF

Intel sources their coolers from three different manufacturers (or so I've seen, could be more) so the choice of thermal paste is probably up to the different manufacturer as long as it is within Intel's specs.

Again, to what I've seen the Pentuim/Core2 coolers are the same, with the Quad coolers being a little beefier.

I believe the Pentium Dual-Core chips are packaged with weaker stock coolers than the full Core 2 chips, but I could be wrong. At any rate, there isn't any significant difference between any of the stock coolers, and they're all pretty mediocre.
