stock gpu fan doesn't run

I just realized that the stock gpu fan on my nvidia gforce4 mx 440 is completly stopped. Is there a setting or jumper i have to change to kick start it? its plugged into the jack on the card, but it still wont spin. Do i have to attatch it directly to the system power with a molex adapter?
 
The video card's power supply should be powering the fan. There's a good chance that the fan itself has failed... either RMA or look at 3rd-party replacements.
