Stock Cooling + Q6600 = ?

I am not doing this permanently, I just don't want to bake my new chip! I have a Scythe Ninja Plus w/120mm fan but I only have the AMD retention brackets right now and my quad is going to get here before I can get those brackets. How high can I go with the Intel stock HSF?

3.0-3.2, whatever works on stock volts, imo. You could probably push it more... but I wouldn't.

Why not just wait for your brackets and run it at stock for now?

Just keep eye on them temps, but i wouldnt push over 3.0 or stock volts.

In my basement with an ambient of 17c I hit 3.6@1.35v with stock HSF 70c

I have a G0 and it seems above average on OC'ing but you can do it

for OCing run yes but 24/7 id stay under 65C and 1.5v actual (cpu) if going air.
