I am still using the 6.12beta6 GPU clients and the SMP V1.01 client and they are still folding away without a problem here, but i am reading the threads that say they have expired? do those pertain to an earlier beta client?
 
Expired clients like the one you are using, will work ok till the next time you try to start the client.

Those new clients have more bugs than a roach motel. The deprecated .exe files can be dropped in to replace the expired fah.exe and are good for a couple of months. It's the option for the lazy....less work up front and less work as this version won't crap out as much. I still have one boxen with the new SMP beta running...but I have to glare at it every time I walk by so it won't hang again ;)
 
The only new SMP client I have currently installed is on a Linux VM. Otherwise all my other installations which are in Windows are still using the v5.91 client. Hopefully by November they will work out the kinks. ;)

 
I have fully given up on the new windoz SMP beta client. I gave it a couple of days and got nothing out of it. It was one error after another. I dropped my OC as well to no avail. This machine has run stable with SMPs for six months....I think it is the software ;)

(In case anyone was wondering what kind of setup can't run the SMP 6.22 beta 2 software, I had it on an E6700/Vista 64 bit/2 gig of ram/ along with the gpu client.)

Did you use the MPICH version? It is almost like the orig and I found to work fine on my systems. I don't might the extra breathing room that this gives me..... but I'd much rather get it from my points going up not yours going down.

I did use the MPICH version (I don't think the other version will run in a 64 bit OS). What is frustrating is that some people have no problems with it and other people just can't get it to run. I'll probably try again with it in a week or two...once some more ideas surface as to how to get it to run properly. I thought with just one instance it wouldn't have any problems. :confused:

I'm only out a few days of production on this machine, but I have the old SMP client running happily now.
