Alright guys I have my case, powersupply, dvdrw, hard drive, and lcd monitor. I of course still need a mobo, cpu, video card, and ram, and for that i need your guys help!!

Ok here was my thought but let me know what you guys think. I was thinking go for an AMD 2800-3000+ Socket 754. Now I was thinking of going for a mobo that support pci-e so I can get the Nvidia 6600GT pci-e card and was just planing on getting a stick of 512mb mushkin pc3200 ram.. What do you guys think?? Also I am trying to keep this within a 500-550 dollar budget... Let me know if u think this is possible or any comments in general!
 
Well, if you plan on going the PCI-e route, why not just upgrade to a 939 socket athlon and mobo. If you plan on gaming, I would definetly upgrade that 512 to 1GB of ram.
 
You won't find PCIe w/socket 754 you have to go with a 939 motherboard. And if you don't care about SLI go with a cheaper nForce4 board such as the Chaintech otherwise you are going to be paying 200+. And I second the option for 1GB, it really does make a difference. Get a dual channel kit from a good company such as Corsair. And if you are not doing any overclocking even the cheaper stuff (such as Value Select) will do you just fine.
