Hey guys, I am having some issues with my storage drives and my P6T Deluxe. I have been on the phone with Asus twice thinking there is just something wrong with the board itself.

The problem is my drives like to randomly spin down. When this happens the system will hard lock for about 5-10seconds until the drive(s) spin back up again.

Another issue worth noting I guess is that on instilling Windows, it would not let me install a RAID driver. It would cough up and error saying something like "Windows cannot load an unsigned 64bit driver. Please load a signed driver or 32bit driver.. blah blah blah" I used a USB floppy, USB stick, and a CD all with the proper AHCI10R drivers on it ... It just wouldn't load. And the manual says that whenever the AHCI controller is being used be sure to install the drivers on the installation screen.

Any ideas? Thanks.
 
Where you using signed drivers for the RAID controller? Did you try getting them straight from Intel? Your signature doesn't say so, but are you even using RAID?
 
Check the power saver settings, there is often an option to have drives spin down after a certain amount of time.

Vista 64 should have the needed raid drivers natively.

Yes I am using RAID, and the drivers I was trying to load were the ones right from the Asus support CD.

Those CDs that come with motherboards are usually only good for being a beverage coaster while you install the OS. Chances are, all the drivers have newer revisions than what is on the disc. Try getting the latest RAID drivers right from the source, ie. Intel.
