I am still in search of some help here:
In Quake 4 when I try and do multiplayer, I can not get an internet list (yes I have the button checked) to come up. If I type in an IP address, my request gets there and then (when I pull down the console), I see an endless loop of "Waiting for Authorization" messages:
Here are some facts:
1. I have a Speedstream 5660 DSL modem.
2. Ports 28004 are open for TCP and UDP through to my machine, which in this case is 192.168.0.7.
3. There are no other machines on this network.
4. I do not have XP SP2 installed.
5. There is no software firewall whether it is XP or 3rd party.
6. System specs in the sig.
7. BF2, SS2, Quakeworld and WoW all work without a problem.
8. I have the DVD version of Q4 with the disc in the drive. No no-cd hacks or any crap like that.
9. Brought my DVD into work, loaded it on my laptop and was able to get through to see a server list. So I am sure there is a router setting I am missing or something is whacked in my XP setup.
Anyone else with a similar problem? I have seen posts of a similar nature on PQ forums...are there official Quake 4 forums?
Any advice?
