Wierdest thing ever.
I hit SHIFT 5 times to get the promt about sticky keys to come up. I click "settings" to disable it and no window pops up, I don't even have an accessability icon in my control panel.

SO I go to the registry location of sticky keys and remove the folder... Still happens

Anyone else know how to disable the sticky keyes

hit shift 5 times...get the dialog to come up. on the sticky keyes section, click "settings". Uncheck all options, click okay...click okay.

shouldn't happen again

if that doesn't work...turn your head to the left and caugh three times for me.

Youch man, yeah, I clearly stated I can't get to the damn settings menu... I am [H]ard after all, you think it would be that easy to fix my problem :rolleyes:

Try Start -> Run -> Access.cpl

Failing that, the Access.cpl file SHOULD be in c:\windows\system32

well shit...then perform a repair install....then follow my first post.

somewhere along your "tweaking"...you've corrupted something very subtle. Since usually there are no backups to go to...a repair install will do ya.

why don't ya jump down ameoba's and Direwolf20's throat...each basically gave the same advice to go to the same route...none will work. What threw me off was the "still happens" comment. Since your problem is that it is NOT happening.

I've had good luck with windows settings here.

My resolution is one he has not tried already, so its possible it will work..... :confused:
I ran access.cpl from the command prompt...you get the same dialog box as if you hit the shift key 5 times or go to Accesibility Options in the control panel... He can get to that dialog box, but not the "settings"

wonderful things happen when you reboot after a registry change.

Right....which is precisely what he couldn't get working. When he clicked "settings" after hitting shift 5 times, it wasn't bringing anything up. He didn't have an "Accessibility Options" in the control panel. Therefore, my solution was still viable, no?

yes, it is still a viable way to get to the main Accessibility Options dialog box.

But after reading...and rereading...Nothing happens when clicking on "Settings". So hitting shift 5 times and running the .cpl file...will end in the same result. That would be getting to the main dialog box but not being able to get into the sticky keys settings because nothing happens when clicking on the "Settings" button.
