I'm looking to upgrade my old Sony receiver... No component outputs. :(

I know this is mainly an HTPC forum but I thought a few of you guys might be able to steer me in the right direction. My stereo is nice but not great, so I'm looking to keep it reasonable (aka. <$500 if possible).

Thanks in advance.

Oh, BTW, I think my lowest wattage speakers in the back are 120 or 150 watts... Don't know if that matters. I'm completely out of touch with home audio equipment.

I've heard nothing but good things about the Pioneer VSX-1016. It can be had for $400 online if you do some searching and includes HDMI and is THX2 certified.

Marantz SR4001, or Denon AVR-1907 (if you don't care about HDMI, which the Denon inexplicably does not have. The 2307 is the cheapest to get HDMI as of yet).

Both have 3 component ins, the Marantz includes 2 HDMI ins as well.

Either will sound terrific for most any application.
