Just got an E6850 from newegg and I hear the G0 stepping is the best for overclocking but, just one question, wtf are steppings? What does the G and the 0 stand for? If anything? And how can you tell what stepping you have?

A stepping is just like a "revision number". More recent steppings are newer revisions to the core.

You can estimate a chip's OC ability by comparing it's stepping to other chips with the same stepping, and looking at their OCs.

G0 is just the core revision name.

To check whether or not you have a G0... Look under the Revision tab of CPUz (I think). Or see if your chip serial # ends in "SLA9U"
