Had my mouse on my system croak last night and went to see if I could just pick up a cheap MS Intellimouse Optical.
Unfortunately the only places that have them ship from China and take 1-3 weeks. Even if you drop $40 on shipping.
And I hate the ergonomics of a lot of the newer mice out there...
Went and browsed the SteelSeries site and was just going to go with their basic optical.
Double-checked Amazon and found the price was identical. Then saw they were selling their laser version (the Sensei Raw) for about the same price with free shipping. Price difference was like a buck.
So I jumped on it. And found out that all shipping was free, even next day.
So, 11AM, I head out to my stoop and there's my nice new mouse.
Plug it in, update the firmware, turn off the throbby LED and voila. I can point and click!
Feels about the same as the Intellimouse Optical did. But the default sensitivity is like 4x. And the secondary setting is twice that. So I'm zooming around my screen like a drunk fratboy on a crotch rocket. Will take a bit of getting used to.
