forgive me if this is in the wrong place, but it made sense now...
anyhow, steam chat/voip works fine... as long as the chat channel is in focus. if I bring a new window to the front (in game or otherwise) I can no longer chat in that channel. which really sucks because every time I bring up a game I can no longer communicate.

steam is up to date
it's late so I am probably forgetting a ton of info... ideas?
