Steam question

I am setting up an office and I want to be able to do some light gaming there.

Is it okay for me to use my same Steam account and games that I use at home assuming that Steam is only *running* on one PC at a time? (ie. if I'm at work, my home PC is turned off, and if I'm at home, my work PC is turned of)

I would prefer not to re-purchase all of my games since I have hundreds of dollars worth of games that I've accumulated ever since Steam opened up... but I don't want them banning me either. What's the deal?

I do that all the time, log into steam on the desktop or the laptop. It works fine. The only (minor) annoyance is if I accidentally leave both logged in, I'll sometimes get booted from multilayer steam games saying my steam login is invalid. In that case I have to log out of steam and then log back in.

It would be ok to use it at the office as long as you're only signed in at one location. You'll obviously have to re-download the games to your office computer.

I did this at my dad's house last time I went to visit and got some good game time in with Wolfenstein3D :)

NICE

thanks guys. i guess it makes sense. steam wouldn't be as successful as they are if they were little bitches about this stuff.

This is good to know. I never really thought about it but now that I have a lappy I can game on, it's time to put Steam on it.

OP, you forgot to put "...Steam sucks balls" in the thread title. I think that's a requirement. :D

get trials 2 , best time killer ever!

and peggle while your at it!

Ya i was using my media center to download some games well i worked on my main. I will just log you out of the other one. For some reason it log out and still downloaded the game on my htpc....not really complaning.

yep, you're allowed to play those games from mulitple computers (1 computer at a time).
i use steam and both my pc and my laptop.
