Steam Cloud causing performance slowdowns?

do most people leave Steam Cloud enabled?...ever since Steam automatically enabled Cloud for my games I've noticed more performance issues and crashes...even starting up and shutting down Steam takes a few seconds longer...is it using up a lot of resources in the background?

I've had quite a few crashes to desktop and freeze-ups with Deus Ex: Human Revolution where I had to use Task Manager to shut down the game and am wondering if Cloud is a big part of it...I've tweaked every advanced graphics option to get to the bottom of it but it still is unstable at times...the features of Steam Cloud don't really matter to me because if I wanted my saved games to transfer to another computer I can just copy the 'saved games' folder over...I don't see the point of Cloud except as a massive resource hog
 
if your internet is slow, maybe it might slow u down. It seems fine for me
 
I currently have a 25Mbps download package so I'm sure that's fine...my system should also be fine...even when I exit Steam there is a 2-3 second lag now where Steam is syncing with Cloud...just wondering if anyone else is seeing any performance issues with Cloud enabled

This is normal and not a performance issue. It's just syncing your settings before you close steam. Happens to me quite frequently, especially if I just got done playing a game and try to close steam right afterwards.
