alright, to begin with, in DoD, i get really really crappy framerates. In all of the other steam games, my fps are fine. CS:S i can get real good frames, but with DoD I hit 20-30 upto 50 fps constantely. I have tried everything i know that could change fps...fps_max, rate, cl_updaterate, etc , etc.

My specs:
AMD 64 2800+
MSI k8t Neo-fisr
1 meg Corsair XMS PC3200
PNY 6800GT
Win 2000 Pro, SP4

anyone have any ideas how to boost my fps, or what could be the problem?
 
Halflife engine sucks, i think it has a limitation on how much cpu it uses or something since the fps lag on all machines no matter what u have it will lag. Same with regular cs, it lags with 32 players even though u have a fast rig.
 
use opengl
vsync off

i dunno ?

i use the rig in my specs and get over 100fps on maps (server permitting, but i only play on 1 server)
