I just got a message on steam saying that someone else has logged into the account and then I got kicked to the login and my password no longer worked. I went to recover the password and got the email with the new temp one but the secret question asked for what the password was reset to the last time. I don't remember ever having to reset it before. I've submitted the ticket to support, but the steam account is very old and I don't remember which game was originally set with it let alone where the cd key is. What's the likelihood that I'm going to be able to get it back? I can't understand how it was stolen though as I've never given out this password.

It's mine now. PM me and you can paypal a ransom to get it back.

Fake edit:
jk, I believe Valve may ask you to verify your identity by using the credit card you bought the games on the account with.

My sons account (which is really an old account of mine) has been hacked twice. The second time the secret question was written in another language (I only speak english and even that not very well).

Both times I was able to contact them and have the account reset. I believe I provided credit card information the last time.

I would consider scanning your system for keyloggers and the like, since if you didn't give out your password thats really the only other way they could steal it.

Thats the only way too and I'm freaking now about bank info and such which is a lot more important than a few games. Going to format tonight to make sure as nothing has turned up with a virus scan.
