When I start or restart my system, I have one service that will take at least 1 minute to load rather than all my other service which are very fast.

Can someone tell me if this is normal to lag so much and or if I even need this service starting upon boot?

do you use nfs? if you don't know what it is, then the answer is no. :)

if you don't use nfs, you don't need statd--you can disable nfs, nfslock (lockd), statd (not sure if this goes away by disabling nfs or how fedora names this one), and probably portmap, if they are enabled. you can use chkconfig to turn these services off. (i have gone with the assumption that you use fedora, since i recall your mentioning fedora use in another thread. if you don't, ignore the chkconfig part).
