Lately i've been having some trouble starting up my computer, what happens when I turn it on is, it will show the first 2 screens that it always shows when starting up, then right before the windows xp loading screen the screen will go blank and do nothing. I was wondering if anyone knew what might be wrong or how I could go about fixing? Thanks.

Have you tried starting Windows in safe mode?

(after the BIOS screen, tap F8 a few times until you see the boot selection menu)

When I try I get "multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\ntoskrn1.exe" at the top of my screen and nothing else.

Try booting off of the windows cd into the revocery console and use these commands:

fixboot

Exit recovery console; see if it'll boot up. If not . . .

chkdsk /r or chkdsk c: /r

Not sure if it'll work but it's worth a shot before you format/buy another drive.

Are you using style XP or any other program to get a custom boot screen?
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\ntoskrn 1.exe
It looks like the boot.ini file is trying to load a modified ntoskrn file. ntoskrn.exe is the correct file not ntoskrn 1.exe.
