I recently turned on one of my boxes to burn a dvd only to find out it wasnt working, bios did identify it during boot. Device manager says "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)". Well I tried removing the drive and reinstalling. Installed invidia drivers and samething. I replaced dvd burner with another burner and nothing. I put the drive on a ide channel by itself and in slave mode with harddrive and still get the same error. I even swapped out power supply just as a shot in the dark. Does anybody have a clue on this one? My setup as is follows:

Asus A7N8X Deluxe 2.0
Athlon XP 2700
512 MB PC 3200 (Geil)
Radeon 9500 pro
Maxtor 40GB HD

Try uninstalling the device, power down, unhook data cable, boot, look for in in device manager, (if it's not there, power down) (if it is, redelete it again), rehookup, boot again, and see what happends. Btw you shouldn't need to reinstall nvidia drivers if you uninstalled the dvd drive, or do you mean you upgraded the device drivers?
