Hey all,

I just stumbled across the page for this BF2142 mod last night. This looks like it's going to be amazing...

I never played Battlefront 2, but Battlefront 1 was terrible. The guns just didnt feel right, the whole game was just sloppy. This game should be awesome :)
 
I can't wait for this mod! It is supposed to be comparable with the Galactic Conquest mod for 1942. And despite their similarities galactic conquest was WAY more fun than battlefront in my opinion.
 
IMO Galactic Conquest sucked too...or maybe I'm being too harsh in thinking that space has no ceiling or floor or sides for that matter.
 
Yeah, Battlefront 1 was horrible,. but #2 was quite fun.

As of right now, I'd say they've suceeded in Battlefront 2's graphics ported over to EA's baby-eating, chain-smoking BF engine.

Playing w/ new game modes is what sounds most interesting to me. ;)
 
galactic conquest was fun as hell! i had a blast while playing it , they really pushed the 1942 engine and physics with it
 
This looks like it could be good as long as they get some good content in; those models are horrific...
 
As much as like this idea, this will probably end badly. Either it won't be that good and no one will play it, or it will be good and Lucas will then sue the bejesus out of them.
 
i really liked the star wars mod for unreal 2004 but NO ONE was playing it... no one.. the mechanics , the maps , the graphics were all incredible...

I played ut2k4 and I never heard of it. Link? screenshots?



This mod looks cool, not cool enough to make me buy BF2142 though. I couldn't even get the demo to run on either of my systems.
 
Not worth the hassle of BF2142.

I don't know what you guys are talking about Battlefront 2 was a blasty blast to play.
 
star wars mods always end up cheese. why not just play battle front?

I was going to ask "what hassle?" but then I remembered how fun it is to fling preconceptions around as far as things made by EA/DICE go.

I'm also revising my comment on this mod; having looked at it around and about I can conclude that it looks like it was made by fourteen year-olds in a free 3d-modelling program, off the top of their heads. Say what you want about DICE, at least their creative teams aren't complete invalids.

The scout trooper's the only decent looking model out there...only really because of some of the reflections/spectrals being cast off his armor.

But seriously...pick up Battlefront 2? Why? Let's see...doesn't take a beast of a system to run....it's fun as hell, loading times are near nill, and gameplay is vastly improved over Battlefront 1 which was a steaming pile of bantha shit. (Hey, Star Wars!)

The only flaw I guess? Stormtroopers still cannot shoot worth shit in Battlefront 2. (I mean the AI ;) ).
 
Actually, I was going to; apparently you can have a lot of fun over Hamachi with it.
