Star Wars Battlefront E3 Trailer

Hoping it has lightsaber dueling like JA and JO did.

This was a fun aspect of those games that I wish was still around. It was pretty hard to master, but enjoyable.
 
I just really hope it doesn't end up like Battlefield 4 with Storm Trooper skins.
 
If this is a 2016 release, it should be just fine, especially now that DICE doesn't have to produce another BF exclusively between now and then.

As for those early Alpha screens.....amazing.
 
The last three epic-looking star wars games have been cancelled. I'm not holding my breath. I mean, after the death of SW: Attack Squadron and then SW: Level 1313...
 
lies! there are about 50 stars at most that you can see in the night sky in stockholm.

R.I.P. Star Wars. I will predict that this game is going to have some Star Wars themed variations of helicopters, parachutes, rocket launchers, and armored mobile spawn centers.
 
to bad it as EA's logo on it. Will probably be buggy as hell :D and rushed out the door to beat Call of Duty to the market.
 
Not holding my breath on this. Looks good and all, but you could tell their "best technology" was chugging a little trying to run it. Once they get done stripping it for the console it'll be meh.

That is still one of the best game mechanics ever developed.

I have to curb my enthusiasm though. I get very excited when I hear about actual fans of an IP making a game for that IP. Unfortunately, it doesn't always turn out well.
 
"Early In-Game Footage". I take that as "Will never look this good".

I've been waiting for this, but expectations are low. It'll sell great because of the Star Wars name (probably being released around the hype of Star Wars 7). It has some amazing potential. I have just been disappointed so many times lately, it's hard to get excited about upcoming games anymore. EA is a big part of it, too. So, low expectations, not going to preorder, don't really buy into "In-game footage" as being anywhere close to final in-game footage.

Still, Star Wars Battlefront. I'm really hoping it kicks some major ass, because if it does, I'm all in. This could be my game of the year.... if done right.
 
I have a brand new barely used copy of Star Wars Battlefront II. I bought it hoping for an experience like Jedi Outcast ( god I loved that game), BOY WAS I DISAPPOINTED!

So, yeah there is no way on God green earth they are getting my money this time....fuck me once shame on you, fuck me twice shame on me.
 
If someone serves you a gourmet meal but there is a turd [EA] on top of it, do you attempt to remove the turd and try to eat what you hope wasn't touched by the turd or do you throw it all out altogether?

I'm waiting for others to eat first so that I can see if the turd is not a turd anymore. EA blows goats. They used to be awesome, but now they are ... a turd. I expect a rushed and incomplete game. I'm waiting for a sale on the game, I won't buy it at full price or at launch. If it kicks ass, I'll get a good deal on a great game. If it sucks, then I'll get a great deal on a crappy used game for $5.

I "Want" to be excited...but

1) EA
2) Dice which is under EA and delivered the steaming piles of unlock driven imbalanced bullshit that is known as BF 3+
3) Will most likely require shitware known as Origin which is an instant and complete deal killer if so.
4) Will probably just be a reskinned Battlefield.
5) Has a history of shitting on the modding community

Did I miss anything? or does that about sum it up?
 
Those had to have been pre-rendered demo's not actual in-game footage, or very very small maps. Because...they look simply amazing! Definitely captures the essence of Star Wars, the character physics and movements are downright awesome, watch the guy jump onto the speeder bike. If this really is the Frostbite 3 engine, it is heavily modded. Playing BF4, the animations are still clunky, I haven't found a game outside of a trailer that really grabs the physical presence of a human. /prays for this to be legit

Same, I want to like it, but they'll be no pre-order in my future. I do hope it's great though.
 
is it just me or is the smash bros going way overboard with all the extras. There are way too many distractions and you are focusing more on them than fighting your opponent.

Well when a single company has a "Proven" track record of shitting on its customers, it is rather hard to be optimistic when you have followed it for as many years as I have.

Someone needs to settle down and look at what history had told us about EA... awful over reaction. Sure enough...a few people voice a valid, honest opinion against a game and you get some depressed Gothic whiny man - child posting something like this... lol

Maybe because EA has pooped on my hopes for certain games way too many times. You can't expect your customers to just forget that you've destroyed their favorite franchises and pre-order your next hyped up product for $60.

How so? I will give you maybe sim city but that is it. Just because the internet cry baby minority didn't like BF3 and BF4 is irrelevant.

Both of those games are really good and sold very well. Get a clue. With Dice in charge I am looking forward to this.

Destroyed may be a bit of a blanketing statement, but they have ruined some franchises (simcity, C&C, battlefield, need for speed, medal of honor, mobile games like plants vs zombies, bejeweled, dungeon keeper) I guess it depends on the players opinion or preference of the game. You say BF3 and BF4 are "really good" games, I disagree. It's almost like we have different opinions or something...

Internet minority?? you don't have to look very far to find people who think battlefield is shit now. You can actually find plenty of unhappy people being "cry babies" on DICE's twitter and battlelog.

I can't tell you not to like something because that is your opinion, I don't need a clue because I don't like their shitty games, deal with it.
 
Any game that's going to be multiplayer is never going to resemble any movie. The human players will spoil whatever immersion is possible because they'll always go where the bar is the lowest, including cheats and exploiting bugs.

If you want a movie like game experience you have to play offline.
