Star Control 2 fans?

I have been a fan of this game since my early days, and I recently discovered there is an open source project for the game going on (it's been going on for years lol), it basically gives us the 3DO content (voice overs anyone?), and apparently multiplayer super melee which I have yet to try.

So is voice overs the only difference between the two versions and some story content cut?

Looking at the graphics they had, they didn't seem all that different from the pc version.

Why would i want this over my star control 2 cd for the pc?

Well for one thing, at least for me, is it works under XP 64. Plus the voice overs and a real soundtrack. And it's free...plus multiplayer super melee. Why not download it?

Really though, the voice overs change the game quite a bit. These are the original voice overs, they sound great!

This is the kind of game we never see on PC nowadays. When are we going to get another space exploration game with great music and characters and deep story and space combat and customization and just a great sense of adventure?

lmao actually I had this for the 3do and I didnt even have a computer, fantastic game I loved it. Man those alien races were sooo cool when I was a kid, this game was so vast and the story just drew me in. I dont think any game as an adult could ever do that again.
