standby normal???

my computer is in the sig...
now i think i might have a problem or it might be normal for intel d845 chipset.
today was the first time i clicked on standby...when i clicked standby the computer shutdown.. :confused: .. but it saied perparing to go to standby in xp. the whole computer shutdown. the cpu fan, the case fans, psu, case temp display lcd, neon light shut off. now when i had my older computer, when i pressed shutdown the psu would be on and the case would have a yellow light.when i pressed the space button, it came alive. is this normal? this is my first time seeiing a computer go into standby mode like this. :eek:
