Hi,
I am troubleshooting an audio recording app. called Cubase VST. One of the fixes suggested at the cubase forum for this specific problem was to switch your computers HAL from ACPI to Standard PC.
I changed to Standard PC via the device manager. This fixed the problem but created more problems with stabiltiy.
Would I be better off doing a clean reinstall of XP and change to Standard PC during the installation?
Would the stability issues be resolved with a fresh install of XP?
Would I be sacrificing performance by using Standard PC?
Should I look for another solution to the problem?
Any advice is appreciated.
