Stacker 831 mod - need input from owners

Hey guys,

I am building a new rig for my brother, and it will have two 3870s in CF.
It'll have a Stacker 831 case.

I came across this modified version, and pretty much immediately realized I want something similar:

I mean, it shouldn't be too hard to do, just gotta take the mesh grills off somehow, sand em, prime em, and paint em.

So, thats basically my question; is it hard to take those off? How are they attached?
