Stacker 830 fan config advice?

I won a CM Stacker 830 a while back from nVidia, and now I'm planning on using it in a build.
Lo and behold, one of my friends gave me a spare X2 5400+ for my 21st birthday :)

But the 830 is a much larger case than i'm used to. And it actually supports 120/140mm fans
(lol my quantum is 80mm only and yes i do know what i'm missing).

I'm not out to spend 10000$ on fans.
This case has 4 fan spots on the side, 1 in the back, 1 on the top, and the potential for 3 in the front.
I dono if i even need all of them honestly >.>

Anybody have any suggestions on how to configure them for a good noise/performance ratio, as far as intake and exhaust go. . . I'd like it to be fairly quiet :)

I was also gonna get a Zalman MFC1 or two cause they look pretty damn sweet if you ask me :)
I don't mind LEDs by the way....as long as the color is consistent.
I was looking at these two fans (or even this one) but once again i'd love to her some better ideas.

Congrats on both the case & the CPU :D

I love my 831 (I think it's the same as the 830 but without some extras, like the side fan cage). I say load your 830 up to the max!

Here are some more fan options for you:

Maybe these for front/back

And these for the side?

wow i missed that scythe fan....and they sell it on newegg too :)

my main problem though is figuring out which ones i want for intake or exhaust..the only
one i do know is that the top fan will be exhaust....and i'll probably have it be the scythe
one so i don't have LEDs coming out the top lol.

I have some noctua's right now, and while i love them and they're quiet, i'm downright
sick of the colors and way too lazy to spray em up properly. I'm really interested the
most in that silverstone fan i found, thats seemingly new and without reviews. SS's
been doing alot that I like lately so maybe i'll be the one to review it :p

I also forgot to mention I have a spare 600W PSU laying around too

I might just buy one of each fan, hook the psu up to the fan controller, and see how they
sound and how much air they're moving at different speeds inside the case. Prolly the
best way to get a feel for them :p

Like I said though, I dono what i wanna do with those 4 on the side and 3 on the front as
far as intake or exhaust goes. I'd still like to see more product-wise advice, but thats the
one thing thats gonna confuse me the most.

Fans are something that unless I see a killer deal online, I can usually get at a local computer store cheaper. Shipping small items is usually a killer.

See what you're saying about placement advice - sorry, I got a little carried away with teh fan pr0n :p

I'm only running 2 fans at the moment: one in the front (mounted on my HDD cage) & one at the rear. I find this keeps things nicely cool; however if I had the optional side cage, I would fill it with low RPM fans - here's why:

Top left: CPU
Bottom left: GPU hot-spot & North Bridge
Top right: RAM
Bottom right: because it's there ;)

I'm not sure I would bother with any more front fans as you can, IMHO, cool the necessary areas more effectively with the side fans. That said if you’ve loads of HDDs then more fronts will make sense. Top fan I would configure as an exhaust.

So, in summary: side & front = intakes, top & rear = exhaust.

Hope that helps :)

EDIT: worth bearing in mind that your PSU will give you a little exhaust too.
