Hi all,

I'm currently running a BFG 1000W semi-modular and it was working a treat with 1xSSD (Samsung PM800 256gb) and 1xHD (old seagate 500GB 7200)

Then I went to 2xSSD (RAID 0) and everything still worked fine. Likewise when I jumped up to 3x drives (still in a RAID0).

But when I found 2x Velociraptor 450gb (again in RAID0) on sale and bought those for even more storage ... I'm guessing the PS has had enough enough.

It is stable enough to load windows but if I let it sit for a bit it will randomly BSOD.

So I pulled the HD array out (now SSD array only) and everything seems fine. Stable as a rock.

Of course I WANT to put the HD array back in so if I need to bump up the PS, I guess that's what I'm going to have to do. With that in mind - I'm looking for recommendations and any input would be great. Other system specs are as per sig (along with 4 or so case fans).

It's not a power supply issue, most likely a motherboard chipset issue or Intel RAID drivers issue..

That's what I thought too, Profumo. I did the math and 1000w seems to be enough for what I had in the box. Even at full draw on the 590 I should still have between 100 and 200w or so of headroom. I've never seen any mention of an intel chipset issue but that might just be because not so many people run multiple raid arrays within one box or using the mobo controllers. Will look into this further. Thanks for the advice!
