1. What will you be doing with this PC?
Streaming TV shows to one or two computers or hooked up directly to TV while streaming to one other computer, music/tv shows/documents storage, web browsing, listening to music, downloading torrents

$400 - $500 (not including case, psu, and os hd)

Northern NJ, there is the Microcenter in Patterson if I do need to get something there

None that can be used with this case

Have put blowholes into a couple of A05Ns but likely won't be doing anything modding with this case

Windows 7 Professional 64-bit

13. When do you plan on building/buying the PC?
Immediately to 1-2 weeks depending on when I get the parts

Other option was to get the base mac mini, upgrade ram, buy the extra hard drive kit, and put in another hard drive but the cost would've been $800+ and its not as flexible as building one on my own so I decided to pass on that idea.

Anyways, I was thinking of the following:

case | M350S WITH PICOPSU-80 (would get as a potential buy from someone on [H])
cpu | INTEL i3-2100T ($134.99 on Newegg, $129 on buy.com?)
mobo | ASROCK H67M-ITX LGA 1155 MOBO ($86.99 + $6.98 shipping from newegg), any other thoughts on mobo?
hd one [os] | SEAGATE MOMENTUS XT 500GB (would get as a potential buy from someone on [H])
hd two [storage] | WD 1 TB 2.5” 9.5 MM PORTABLE HD WD10JPVT ($119.99 + $4.99 from amazon)
ram | G.SKILL 4GB (2x2GB) F3-10666CL9D-4GBECO ($30.99 + $2.99 shipping from newegg)
hsf | stock? are there other options available (i.e. what's the biggest HSF that can fit in it)?

I've never bought/used a picoPSU before so the obvious question is will that PSU suffice or would I need to get the 90W or 120W variation? I know you've been recommending the M350 Machupo, so let me know what you think! Also, random question but what picoPSU would be recommended for a similar configuration but with i3-540 and gigabyte h55n-usb3? Thanks!
 
I don't think you can fit 2x 2.5" hdd's in the M350 with the stock intel hsf. I've got a Gelim slim silence on the way that i'm going to use in my build b/c I want to try and fit a 3.5" hdd as well and the silverstone NT07 is too tall :D.

I think getting the M350S w/ the pico is going to be tough to get from someone in the forum, probably will have to go w/ the combo deal on mini-box.com. Since you've got a microcenter nearby, you may want to look into getting a i3-2100 + H67N combo ($166 + tax) and undervolting the processor down to 2100t levels.

For that stuff, the 80w picopsu version that is in the combo w/ the M350 should be plenty. Hell, I'm maxing a i3-550 & HD6670 (furmark) at just over 100w!

Ah that's disappointing that the M350 might not be able to hold two 2.5" hods with the stock intel hsf but looking at pictures the seller showed me, you might be right.

As for getting the M350S with the 80 W picoPSU from someone on the forums, the guy has two of them :p, the other being the M350. As for the i3-2100 + H67 combo, where do you get $166? I see $99 for i3-2100 & $99.99 for the gigabyte H67 with $15 rebate before tax. And if I don't under volt the i3-2100, it'll also be fine with that PSU? Thanks!
 
it was an unposted $40 rebate if you bought the mobo and the cpu... i was in there acting like a fat kid in a candy store and the sales guy was like "you know... if you buy a mobo with a proc you get an extra $40 instant off"... I ended up getting two of 'em (limit of one per processor type, so my other one was a 2500k and a h67n) :D

yeah, if you don't undervolt that 2100 it would be fine w/ the pico from that deal, but the brick in that deal only provides 5A at 12V, so only 60w (so it wouldn't work w/o undervolting)

I think I might stick with the 2100t despite its higher price tag because I'm too lazy to underclock, its smaller stock hsf, and also because I really want to try fitting a second 2.5" hard drive. I have a wd 640 gb 2.5" hd that's currently in use in my brother's computer so I could just test fit it before buying the secondary hard drive that I have listed. Measurements of the 2100t stock hsf seem to be a tad below 30mm so I guess we'll have to see! I haven't seen anyone with the case and two 2.5" hard drives but I'd love to see it work!
