SSE4 specificaly optimized for AVC encoding?

I found this very interesting article while browsing Wikipedia:

Apparently, the SSE4 instruction set included with Penryn has optimizations specifically for motion estimation in AVC encoding. Those of us who encode x264 material know how long these converts can take. I'm really curious now, to see how much this new instruction set will help with converting times...
