I have a pair of Samsung 830 256gig SSD drives. I'm looking to configure these in raid0 on my Asus Maximus V Gene (Z77) motherboard using the Intel onboard raid controller. What's the best way to set these things up for optimal, long term, performance?
Specifically I wondering about the following things:
1. What strip size should I use? 32k? 64? 128?
2. Given the two 256gig drives, what should I format the raid array to during windows installation? I've read things online to underprovision things to give the SSD room to work. Is this really necessary?
Anything else I might not be thinking about?
