Are there any extra hurdles when encrypting SSDs as opposed to traditional platter drives?
 
Thanks for the info. What if I wanted to stick with software encryption? I can't get any real clear answers on whether or not it's feasible.
 
I use Truecrypt system encryption on my os/apps/boot SSD. No problems, fast and seamless between that and AES-NI on the cpu.
