I have an older Gigabyte P965 DS3 rev. 1 motherboard and am trying to get all the life out of it that I can. I am looking for the best SATAII SSD that I can buy. Needs to be at least 120gb....it can be a couple generations old if need be, as my motherboard does not support SATAIII.

There can be some great deals on some Intel X-25M's out there. They come in a 160GB form. I believe they're SATAII and have good endurance.
 
I would not bother with SATA II drives. Just get an SATA III model. Remember SATA is backward compatible so and SATA III drive will work in a SATA II motherboard.

My suggestion is to wait till the Samsung 840 or Crucial M4 256GB SSDs go on sale for $150 and purchase.

Only reason I suggested the Intel SATA2 drive is that I've seen them for as low as $80 new after rebate. $110 without rebate. New with warranty. I know you'd be limiting bandwidth potential in a newer system, but random performance is still way faster than a hard drive, which arguably is where the perceptive difference really comes from.
 
X-25M are much slower than what SATA2 can do, so I don't see any reason to buy that in 2013.
