I need mounting bracket's\ Rails for my ssd didnt come with any no biggie are they all pretty much teh same ?

What do you mean? They just screw into 2.5" bays or 3.5" bays with an adapter

ys i need the bay or something all i have is teh hdd no brackets.............wont fit into my case without something to hold it there

Then you need to get a 3.5" to 2.5" adapter, some of the better cases come with them. What case do you have?

Even if your case didn't come with an adapter, brackets, or rails, you can find something for less than $10 online.

Or you can use tape or zipties, if you're broke. :p Hm... I have a bunch of those adapters, maybe I should sell mine...

Hi, fightingfi,

You can get a SilverStone SDP08 3.5" to 2 x 2.5" Bay Converter at Newegg for $12. Or, you can try the Scythe BAY-RAFTER-2.5-RB "Bay Rafter 2.5 Rev. B" in a 3.5" bay for $9.

I went with the Thermaltake AC0014 3.5" HDD Converter for 2.5" SATA & SSD Hard Drives since one of my rigs is n a Theraltake Xaser VI case.

Hope this helps.

Is there any reason why one would need rails? I mean, if it's an SSD, couldn't you theoretically leave it hanging until (if) you can buy rails?

It's not like a traditional HDD, so I suspect there wouldn't be any serious issues, except aesthetics...

Yes, the only issue would be if you move the case around a lot then having it hanging in there could damage other components if it's not secured but technically, the SSD doesn't need to be "mounted" but I would still secure it to something solid with zip ties.
